Are you passionate about Marketing, Communications, Event Planning, and more? We’re looking for a motivated intern to join our Breakthrough T1D North Texas and Oklahoma Chapter team!

Job Title: Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, and Community Engagement Intern
Manager: Development Staff
Term of Internship: Spring, Summer, Fall, and/or Winter Terms are Available; 20-35 hours weekly schedule TBD
Location: Dallas Office, In-Person

About Breakthrough T1D:

Breakthrough T1D is the leading funder of type 1 diabetes research. From funding innovative research to advocating for government action to providing a support structure for our community, no other organization does more to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D) than Breakthrough T1D.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and executing various events such as the Breakthrough T1D Galas, Breakthrough T1D Cliff Harris Golf Tournament, Breakthrough T1D Community Summit, Breakthrough T1D Walk
  • Assist with overseeing logistics, timelines, programming, communications, venue coordination, and event execution for Breakthrough T1D events
  • Support design creation, copywriting, and production of marketing and fundraising collateral, donor materials/acknowledgments, and ongoing correspondence
  • Assist with social media, email campaigns, and public relation activities surrounding the events
  • Manage and coordinate volunteers to assist with event execution
  • Support Breakthrough T1D Community Engagement Manager and Breakthrough T1D Development Director
  • Support staff in all aspects of revenue generation from fundraising events

Necessary Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resourceful and flexible. Ability to pitch in and help on a variety of tasks as needed.
  • Desire to work and learn about non-profit marketing and special event planning/execution/follow-up and reporting.
  • Good time management and organization skills. Ability to multitask.
  • Ideal for applicants pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Community Health, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related fields.
