Parents and caregivers can hear from the experts on 504 plans, sick day protocol, managing blood glucose while at school, school resources, communication plans and more. Get your questions answered by the experts! Dr. Henry Rodriguez and Janet Rodriguez with the USF Diabetes and Endocrinology Center will share their knowledge and experience and can answer all your questions so your T1D will be ready for a successful and safe start to the school year!
Middle school teacher and T1D dad, Shamus Lapean, will also share tips for developing an ongoing, consistent communication plan with the school by fostering a positive relationship with teachers and staff and ensuring your child’s needs are being met.
Bring the entire family – we will have a supervised area for the kids with activities to keep them busy! Meet others in the area living with T1D! Get your school-related questions answered before the first day of school!
