Community Summit 2025

March 8, 2025, Union, NJ
8:00 am - 1:00 pm (Eastern Time)

The Breakthrough T1D Community Summit is an educational and networking opportunity for all those impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D). This year, the Breakthrough T1D Community Summit will bring our community together to learn from T1D experts, hear about the latest breakthroughs in T1D research, meet vendor exhibitors, connect with others impacted by T1D, and more. The educational program and conversations will be geared towards an adult audience, but we do have space in our limited Youth & Teen Programming available.  We look forward to having you join us!

This year breakout sessions will include:

  • Early Detection and Clinical Trials
  • Balancing Mental Heath and Diabetes
  • Navigating Your New Diagnosis  (geared toward adults diagnosed within 1-2 years and parents of children more recently diagnosed)
  • Exercise and T1D
  • Off to College – presented by The Diabetes Link
  • Diabetes Sanga – mindfulness and meditation practice for those living with T1D and caring for those with T1D

Keynote Speaker is Stacey Simms, the host of the long-running and award-winning podcast Diabetes Connections and the author of “The World’s Worst Diabetes Mom” book series. She hosts Moms’ Night Out – an in-person event for moms of children with diabetes. Stacey’s son, Benny, was diagnosed with type 1 in 2006, just before he turned two. He’s now a college sophomore attending a school 600 miles away from home.
