JDRF: Powered by Kids!

Breakthrough T1D offers kids many ways to educate, inspire and motivate their peers to help make a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). These opportunities allow children, their schools and communities to discover how volunteerism and support make a difference for kids living with T1D.

Breakthrough T1D School Program

Our in-school program offers a way for students and teachers to learn about diabetes, and for students to make a real difference in their community.

Our interactive assembly teaches students and staff about T1D, diabetes and answers any questions the students may have. Your school decides how they would like to raise funds for T1D research—participate as a team in One Walk, create a Breakthrough T1D Your Way campaign or host a walkathon and sneaker sale campaign at the school.

Breakthrough T1D One Walk

Schools have the opportunity to be part of the bigger community and receive recognition for their participation in Breakthrough T1D One Walk, the signature fundraising event for T1D research.

When you create a Walk team that motivates others to join your quest to fight T1D, Breakthrough T1D provides incentives, resources and rewards for schools and youth organizations. Friendly rivalries and classroom competitions also add to the fun ways people contribute.

Breakthrough T1D Your Way

You know what your school likes! Breakthrough T1D Your Way is a flexible fundraising platform with digital tools that lets you do anything—and we mean anything—to teach your peers about T1D and support a world without T1D. Create a unique event, showcase your friends’ talent or use a special occasion to encourage involvement.
