Walking this journey together

It starts out personal.  You get involved because you would do anything to lessen the burden that your child carries. Over time, once you have a basic handle on how to backfill for a pancreas gone AWOL, you start sleeping again and the fog begins to lift. That’s the moment you realize this is so much bigger than you, which is simultaneously comforting and heart-breaking. It’s the club you never wanted to be a part of and now you have lifetime membership.

Or maybe not.  That’s where Breakthrough T1D comes in.  We’ve been blown away by the rigor and expertise that this organization applies to ensure that only the most promising and scientifically sound projects are funded. And the huge leaps forward that make Lizzie’s life better today are proof positive that Breakthrough T1D knows how to drive results and get them in people’s hands quickly.

In the meantime, we lighten one another’s loads by walking this journey together. Please join us in helping to fund the next big breakthrough that gets us closer to a world without T1D.  Thank you for being part of this community.
