Meet Jonathan, the February Volunteer of the Month!

Meet Jonathan Engebretson! On top of being a busy teenager managing learning through a pandemic, he’s a proud T1D warrior, long time One Walk participant, Breakthrough T1D Youth Ambassador and a member of the National Honors Society. He’s spent the past several years sharing his creativity with our community to inspire others to join the fight to cure type 1 diabetes.
Even though he’s already doing so much, Jonathan emailed us offering to use his NHS volunteer hours to go even further above and beyond for our chapter, spending this past month making calls and putting his great penmanship to use by writing hand-written notes to donors and One Walk fundraisers thanking them for their generosity and efforts.
Why was Jonathan named Volunteer of the Month for the Minnesota Dakotas Chapter? He was quoted recently saying “Keeping a positive attitude and knowing that I can live my life with “No Limits” is key to managing diabetes!” That positive attitude, his commitment to creating a world without type 1, and his undeniable passion are contagious, and we are so grateful that he’s willing to share it all with us.
Please join us in congratulating Jonathan on being February’s Volunteer of the Month!
