We’re the All in this Together Type

Our thoughts are with those in our community who are coping with the effects of the recent hurricanes. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and have access to needed diabetes supplies.

As part of our emergency response, Breakthrough T1D and a coalition of diabetes organizations—most notably the American Diabetes Association and Insulin for Life USA—joined hearts and hands to ensure thousands of life-saving supplies were delivered and made accessible to those who needed them most.

We know our community has been hit in unimaginable ways, but we must persevere. The Breakthrough T1D mission still stands before us and we must continue to pursue our goal of a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).

One of the strongest characteristics of the T1D community is “unity.” Through our efforts mentioned above, and through our local approach to raising funds to cure, treat and prevent T1D, we are steadfast in helping our community when our members are in need.  This also includes raising funds through our walk efforts; we walk this year not only for a cure, but for all of those in our T1D community who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma and most recently Hurricane Maria. Together as one community, we can turn Type One into Type None.
