Breakthrough T1D South Jersey Chapter’s Passport to Greece Record Breaking Gala
To all of you who joined the Breakthrough T1D South Jersey Chapter and Gala Co-Chairs, Cindy Kramer and Lori Reiner Rovins, on April 13th, THANK YOU! It was a spectacular evening in so many ways. The generosity shown by our guests, was truly inspirational and in turn the fundraising was remarkable!
This year’s gala proved to be a record-breaking night for the Breakthrough T1D South Jersey Chapter. We are proud to announce we raised over $555,000 for Breakthrough T1D’s mission and T1D research.
This year the South Jersey chapter was thrilled to be honoring long-time Breakthrough T1D supporters, Thomas and Lorraine Deeney and their children Jason & Nicole Bintliff, Jonathan & Jacquelyn Chain, Brian Deeney and Sarah Orfanos and Patricia Deeney. The Deeney family first became involved with Breakthrough T1D more than 30 years ago when Brian was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at the age of two. Since that time, they have been leaders in the fight to find a cure for T1D.
Also being honored that night was Michelle Laranko, RN, CDE as the Distinguished Service Award Recipient. Michelle, who also has type 1 diabetes, has dedicated her life to helping others understand and manage this disease.
If you happen to miss some of the gala program that evening, please see below for just a few of the many highlights and a link to view more photos. Enjoy!
