Hi, my name is Trudy Simmons! I have known the Brooks and his family for 5 years! They have become like family to my family.  When Brooks’ mom called me the day he went into the hospital, I felt helpless to help her.  I knew nothing about Type 1 diabetes.  All I knew to do was pray and support her in any way I could. When she told me about the Breakthrough T1D Ride, and me being an ironman athlete, I knew this was a great way to get involved and show my love and support! Watching the Brooks’ family through the onset of this journey has been an amazing eye opener for our family and has taught us so much.  I have been able to listen and try to understand the stresses and complications that are associated with T1D and am prayerful that a cure will be found! I would love your support as I ride to support this amazing family!
