Tonight, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) volunteer and type 1 diabetes advocate, Joshua Davis led the Pledge of Allegiance at the Democratic National Convention. We are proud of Joshua for using his voice to raise type 1 diabetes awareness and for helping to shine a light on important issues that impact our community, like insulin affordability, on a national stage. At the age of eight in 2017, Joshua was a delegate at Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress, a biennial event in Washington D.C. that brings kids and teens living with type 1 diabetes face-to-face with lawmakers and top decision-makers. In the ensuing years, Joshua has continued his type 1 diabetes advocacy, dedicating countless hours to Breakthrough T1D’s bipartisan advocacy efforts.
