Join us for a FREE Breakthrough T1D Community Summit, (formerly JDRF TypeOneNation Summit), a day of education, inspiration, and connection. Learn about research advances, hear motivational messages from T1D champions, stay current on the latest technology and treatment options, meet others in the T1D Community, and so much more!

Teen Track is back for 8th – 12th graders with type 1 diabetes! Spots are limited so register now.

Continental breakfast, light snacks and buffet lunch with gluten free options will be provided.

The educational program and conversations will be geared towards an adult audience. Childcare is not available. With respect to event and participant safety, there will be no Kid Zone offered this year.

  • Join us for a journey through the latest advancements in type 1 diabetes research with Breakthrough T1D, with a focus on prevention and cell therapies.  Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of Breakthrough T1D’s efforts to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to delay and prevent T1D, updates on first in human cell therapies, and advancements in treating type 1 diabetes and its complications.

  • Beyond Insulin: Adjunctive Therapies in Type 1 Diabetes Care

    In the evolving landscape of diabetes care there are now many new available therapies. However, the management of type 1 diabetes is still limited to insulin therapy. This talk will explore the role of adjunctive therapies in the management of type 1 diabetes, highlighting how these treatments could complement insulin therapy. Attendees will learn about research on potential adjunctive therapies that Breakthrough T1D is funding, including SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists, and their potential benefits and risks.

    Navigating the Reorganization of your Healthcare Team: From Pediatric to an Adult Care Team

    This session will encompass the steps to ensure a smooth transition to a new care team. It will include guidance on operational steps as well as comanagement-transition plans, guided decision making, action steps, caregiver adaptation and self-advocacy.

    Type One Diabetes and Disordered Eating

    Recent research indicates higher prevalence rates of eating disorders and disordered eating among people with type 1 diabetes, compared to their peers without diabetes. This presentation will provide insight into the symptoms, possible triggers, necessary interventions, and complexities of eating disorders and disordered eating among individuals with type one diabetes.

    Stuntman, Adventurer and Music Manager Olly Rowland, talking about how he never says no to opportunities, and how he went from working as a stuntman in Captain America, to joining Dolly Parton’s management team, and visiting the Arctic circle a few times in the process – all while being a type 1 diabetic.

  • Diabetes 101: For Parents & Caregivers

    Do you have a loved one who is newly diagnosed, or are you a parent or caregiver to someone living with T1D? Please join us to gain more insight into what’s next, how to move forward, and leave with more resources in your T1D toolbox. This session will help provide you with the knowledge you need to help care for a child living with T1D.

The best parking for the Grand Ballroom Conference Area are the self-parking lots (as indicated on the map).

Enter Palace Station through the casino entrance nearest the Race & Sports Book. Follow the escalator (located between the food court and Sports Book) to the second floor. The Community Summit covers the entire second floor of the conference area and Check In is visible from the top of the escalator.
